Ramadan Diaries: Ashra of Mercy, Day 01

Bismillahir Rahmanir RaheemIn the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Hey there! Assalamoalekum!

Today's the 1st of Ramadan and the Ashra (decile - 10 days) of Rehmat (Mercy) have begun. Being the Most Merciful is an attribute of Allah (swt), it is one of His divine names. When we open the glorious Quran, the very first chapter, Al-Fatihah (The Opening), mentions the names Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem. The meaning of the names and the guidance provided to all Believers through them and their exegesis is the very crux of the first 10 days of Ramadan.

Seriously, do you think it's hard to seek mercy from someone who's the Most Merciful? Not really. Sincerity is all you need. Plus, you should know why should you be seeking mercy and how. Let's begin the day by understanding the meaning of Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem and the idea of mercy and how to seek it.

Read about the excellence of fasting in Ramadan and what a beautiful gift it is for you as described by RasoolAllah, Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his progeny).

Grab a recipe of some delicious Dates Truffles to add to your Ramadan table. It's a little treat by Sana from Silver Spring Hijabs. A great way to get Ramadan started. Send in your recipes with your name to sisterlyyoursanum@hotmail.com

Collect some dua'as that are good to be recited in the 1st Ashra since they are worded to seek the mercy of Allah (swt)
